A Suicide Prevention and Awareness Program


The mission of The Tools for Health, Resilience, Insight, Vitality, and Empowerment (THRIVE) program is to promote the mental and physical health for all CSUSB students. Through creative and engaging health education programming, trainings, and clinic services students will learn how to reduce their stress, combat their anxiety and worry, understand and manage basic depressive symptoms, and recognize and prevent suicidal behavior.

THRIVE programs are supported by a grant from the California Mental Health Services Authority (CALMHSA).

THRIVE Programs Include:

  • Health and wellness workshops

  • Meditation activities

  • Mental health/suicide prevention trainings

  • Health promotion/disease prevention activities

  • Campus-wide health promotion events

  • THRIVE Book Club

THRIVE Meditation

Dates and times:Mondays through Thursdays 11:30am and 12 noon.
Library Lawn, In front of the Performing Arts
In case weather does not permit meditating outside, we will meet in the SHC Room- 166

Description:Two-10 minute meditations are offered during the hour to assist students, staff, and faculty to take advantage of the many benefits of meditating regularly. Stress reduction and increased mental, emotional, and physical resilience are just some of the wonderful effects of meditating.

An opportunity to be creative, mindful, and self-reflective while creating art, journaling, and combining mediums. Different patterns, suggestions, and ideas will be provided each week. Drop-ins welcome. Refreshments will be provided.
